All-in-one Strawberry and Cream Scones

Strawberries and Cream Scones

These moist scones give you all the delights of a Devonshire tea in one bite. You may need to play around a bit depending on the ripeness of your strawberries but they're worth the effort.

Preparation Time: 5
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Serves: 8

200 grams of SR flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
50 grams castor sugar
200 - 250 ml double cream
1 cup chopped strawberries

Preheat oven to 220c.
Sift flour and salt into bowl.
Add sugar, cream and strawberries.
Mix through and turn out onto a floured board.
Knead lightly and roll out to around one inch thick.
Cut and place on floured or paper-lined tray
Bake 10 mins at 220c then lower heat to 150c and continue to bake until golden and cooked through (around 5 to10 mins.)
Cool on wire rack and serve warm or cold with a big dob of butter. YUM!

When I have never made a recipe before, it is so much better if the ingredients are listed by weight , NOT volume (cups, spoon) since the variation in size of containers, and method of measuring,
can mean the difference between success and a mess.
I love this clever and time saving idea! I may even be prompted to actually cook it for myself and my family.
