Almond Crisps

These biscuits are quick and easy to make, great with a cuppa. If you don't like almonds, you could substitute other nuts, either slivered or chopped.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: Approx 15 minutes
Makes: 30 biscuits

Ingredients
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup raw sugar
80g softened butter
1 egg
1 cup SR flour
1/2 cup slivered blanched almonds
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence

Method
Cream the butter with the white and raw sugar.

Add egg and vanilla to the mixture.
Mix well.
Add the slivered almonds to the mixture.

Add sifted flour to mixture.

Mix well.
Roll into balls and place on greased oven tray.
Press with a floured fork, leaving about 2 cm between each biscuit.

Bake in a moderate oven for approximately 15 minutes until light brown.

Allow to cool before removing from tray using a metal egg slice.
