Making this Gluten free crumble is much easier than you think. The spices in the topping bring out the wonderful flavours of the apple underneath. If you want to be Dairy Free as well, then substitute coconut oil for the butter.
Ingredients 800g tin of pie apple
1/2 cup of Gluten Free plain flour
1/2 cup almond meal
2/3 cup gluten free rolled oats
2/3 cup desiccated coconut
1 teaspoon mixed spice
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 cup caster sugar
150g butter - melted
Preheat oven to 160 degrees C
Spread apple evenly over the base of a medium sized oven-proof ceramic dish or 6 individual dishes.
In a large mixing, combine the dry ingredients. (Please note, if you've not got any Gluten Free flour, you can use all almond meal.)
Make a well in the centre and pour in the melted butter.
Mix well so that the butter is evenly combined with the dry ingredients.
Spread this crumble mixture over the top of the fruit.
