Apple Crumble Porridge

I have been obsessed recently with finding interesting and lip-smacking variations of the humble porridge pot. This one tastes like the irresistibly comforting dessert, but is actually packed full of fibre and other life affirming nutrients. A big winner with the kids.



Preparation Time: 2 minutes
Cooking Time: 3 minutes
Makes: 1 servings

Ingredients

1/2 cup oats
3/4 cup water
1/2 apple, sliced
1 cup milk (I use soy)
1 tsp brown sugar
pinch cinnamon

sprinkle of nuts/seeds (optional)

Method
Combine oats, water, apple and sugar in a bowl, and place in microwave for 2 minutes.



Once cooked, mix through any nuts/ seeds you wish (I enjoy adding a teaspoon of LSA and a sprinkle of pepitas), and the milk.
Finally, add a pinch of cinnamon to give a sweet twist, and enjoy immediately!
