Apple Rose Tarts

I am 14 years old. I have always made my recipes from scratch and have never used a packet mix.

These are delicious and beautiful apple tarts. They are great for the whole family to enjoy. They are so easy to make.

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Makes: 12 servings

2 cups plain flour
115g butter
4 red apples
4 tbs sugar
1/2 cup water

Cut apples in half.
Remove the cores and cut into thin slices.

Cook apples in sugar, syrup and water for 3 minutes.
Remove apples from water.
Reserve the water for pastry.

To make pastry cut up butter.
Add 8 tbs of the cooked apple water.
Mix together then add the flour.
Mix until the dough comes together and kneed it into a ball.

Divide dough into 3.
Roll out 1/8 inch think. Cut into about 4 strips about 1/2 inch wide.
Place about 6 overlapping apple slices on a strip.

Roll up strip as shown.

Place roll in cupcake paper in cupcake pan. Repeat for remaining rolls. Bake at 180c for 20 minutes or until pastry is cooked.
Cool and dust with icing sugar and cinnamon (if desired)
