Apple Snow is a descendent of an Elizabethan recipe called Snow Cream. Snow Cream, as the name suggests uses cream mixed with egg whites and apples, but the recipe I found (I can't remember where) left out the cream and used the egg yolks instead. It sounded like a good idea to me since it means you are not left wondering what to do with leftover yolks. For me, I consider Apple Snow a non-alcholic eggnog. This is therefore a great way to share the festive drink with kids. Although I call it a drink, it is very thick, and might actually be better eaten with a spoon, like you would a sundae. Based on the brands I used, each serving is about 195 calories.
