This is a recipe passed on my mother. This iced coffee is often served at functions in my home country Sri Lanka. Even at dinner parties thrown at home my mother never failed to make this. Now I have passed on the recipe to my daughter.
Ingredients 1 Tin condensed Milk
1-2 teaspoons strong coffee
1/4 cup boiling water
2 cups milk
Sugar to taste (optional)
6 cloves. (crushed)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Boil 2 cups of milk with the spices
Put boiling water into a cup with 1-2 teaspoons of coffee. leave it to brew.
When the milk comes to a boil add the brewed coffee and the condensed milk and vanilla. Stir, taste, add sugar if needed and strain. When completely cooled, bottle it and place in the fridge. You can prepare this a day ahead.
