Cheese (339)      Bacon (139)      Scones (25)

A tasty savoury scone that will cure both your salt and sugar cravings. Based on the brands I used, each bacon cake is about 119 calories.

Preparation Time: 40 minutes
Cooking Time: 40 minutes
Makes: 10 servings

Ingredients
200g self-raising flour
60g cheddar cheese
60g unsmoked streaky bacon
1 tbsp tomato ketchup
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
125ml light soya milk
25g soya butter

Method
Pre-heat the oven to 200 ༠C/ 180 ༠C fan/375 ༠F/5 Gas.
Rub the butter into the flour for a breadcrumb like consistency.
Grate the cheese and at three quarters into the mix.
Fry the bacon, chop it into small pieces, and add it to the mix.
Mix the milk, tomato ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce together, then gradually pour into the flour mixture to form a dough.
Divide the dough into ten rounds, then sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
Bake in the oven.
