Barm Brack is an Irish tea loaf made with sultanas that are soaked in tea to give them extra flavour. The name comes from the Irish words 'bairín' and 'breac' mean ing 'speckled loaf'. It is a customary Halloween cake in Ireland, and it is traditional to hide trinkets inside like a ring or a penny, etc. What ever item you got in your slice would reveal your future, for example, marriage and wealth respectively. Based on the brands I used, each slice is about 212 calories.
