A stir fry is a must-have when visiting an Asian restaurant, but you don't have to go to a restaurant to enjoy a delicious stir fry dish. Simple yet full of flavour, this stir fry recipe is great fun to make.
Ingredients 1 carrot
3 small tomatoes
3 white mushroom
Small cup of green peas
Beef: mince or prepare your own from topside steaks, fillets, etc. (finely chopped)
Pinch of salt
1 tbsp of oyster sauce
1/2 tsp of black pepper
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
Other spices: sugar, grated ginger, crushed garlic
Mix the beef with a little of the flavourings and let it stand while you prepare other ingredients. Add a tsp of oil in the beef and mix well. This helps you to use less oil to cook later and makes the meat brown well.
Wash the vegetables, dice the tomatoes into small, even cubes.
Chop the capsicum into little pieces.
Peel and cut the white mushroom.
Dice the carrot and rinse quickly in hot water. This helps them cook faster when you fry.
Heat up cooking oil in a pan. Add garlic and tomatoes, stir well until you can smell the unique aroma. Put the beef in and stir until it is slightly cooked.
Add other ingredients with the seasonings and stir quickly at high heat, make sure they all cook evenly.
This stir fry is best served hot with rice.
The beauty of this dish lies in the mix and match of colours, the warm aroma of the spices and the stimulating burst of flavours lingering on your taste buds.
