Beef Stroganoff is a favourite amongst my friends. It is simple and delicious and a great meal to hide vegetables in!
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 35 minutes
Makes: 5 servings
Ingredients
600g beef
400g mushrooms
300ml sour cream
2 small onions
1 tsp chilli flakes
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tbs butter
2 tbs flour
Extra flour to coat the beef
3 beef stock cubes
2 cups of water
2 tbs tomato paste
1 tsp crushed garlic
Method
Preheat your wok while you cut the beef into small slices.
Cut up the onions and sauté in butter.
Slice the mushrooms and add to the wok when the onions have softened.
Cook off the spices by adding the garlic, chilli and parsley.
Dissolve the stock cubes in the water and add to the wok.
Stir in the tomato paste and bring to the simmer.
Lightly coat the chopped beef in flour and add to the mix.
Cook until the beef is tender and the sauce thickens.
Before you serve add the sour cream and heat through.
Season with pepper and salt.
Serve with linguine pasta.
