This is a fun way to transform the iconic Aussie boomerang and a normal, boring pizza into edible art. Preparing these is guaranteed fun for children who will love designing their own variation of the circular pizza. I reckon this could be a healthy hit at a children's birthday party. I have included very basic toppings below, however you could use any toppings you like - just make sure you offer an inspiring range of colors.
Ingredients 2 cups Self Raising flour
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup pesto sauce (or tomato)
1 cup grated cheese
1/2 cup sliced olives
1/2 cup sliced capsicum
1/2 cup ham or salami
1/2 cup sliced fresh tomato
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
Sliced pizza toppings
Sift the self raising flour into a mixing bowl and add the milk and a little olive oil.
Mix the flour and milk together to make the dough and knead it well.
Knead the dough well
Separate the dough into four even balls.
Shape each smaller ball of dough into individual "edible boomerangs" and place on a well greased baking tray.
Shape the dough into boomerangs
Add pesto sauce as the base and then create your own unique design on each "boomerang".
Add pesto sauce
Bake in a moderate oven for about twenty minutes or until the cheese has sufficiently melted.
Serve with your favorite salad at a barbecue or at your next children's party. Enjoy.
