Ingredients
200g wholemeal plain flour
200g wholemeal self raising flour
200g cheddar cheese
100g jarred chargrilled peppers in oil
100g margarine
150ml almond milk
2 eggs
1 tsp mustard powder
2 tsp baking powder
Ground black pepper to taste
Method
Pre-heat the oven to 220 ༠C/ 200 ༠C fan/425 ༠F/7 Gas.
Grate the cheese and chop the peppers, then mix into the flours, mustard powder, ground black pepper, and baking powder.
Rub in the flour and mix in the eggs.
Gradually add the milk to form the dough.
Using your fists, punch down the dough into a thick rectangular shape, and use a cookie cutter, cut out the scones.
Bake in the oven for 20 minutes.
