Chia is a herb related to the mint family and is native to Mexico and Guatemala. The name comes from the Aztec word,
chian meaning oily; this is because the seeds are rich in omega 3, along with many other vitamins and minerals. They have a bitter peppery taste and are very filling because they absorb so much water. That makes having chia for breakfast a great way to keep you going till lunch.
