Chinese Red Cooked Pork Belly

Do you like Asian Food? Here is the Chinese Red Cooked Pork Belly, which is the most common chinese dishes in a Asian Restaurant's menu. Although the preparing time takes a while, but it is definitely worth the time. Try them.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 50 minutes
Makes: 4 servings

550g of Pork Belly
3 slices of ginger
3 large spring onion
Pork can be pre-rinse with hot boiled water to reduce the "gamey" smell

2tbspn Dark Vinegar
3tbspn ShaoXing wine
2tbspn sugar
1tbspn light soy sauce
1tbspn dark soy sauce
1tspn chicken powder
200ml water

Cut the pork belly into bite-sized chunk.
In a hot pan, put in the pork belly. Pan-fry the pork, each side around 1 to 2 minutes till golden brown.
No oil is needed as the pork will produce oil itself

Add ginger slices and green onion into the pan to saute.

Add all the seasoning in except water into the frying pan and stir for 1 minute.

Add in water and bring it to boil then turn to low heat.
Transfer the pork to a pot (Optional)

Cover with lid and simmer for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, give it a good stir and continue to simmer for 15 minutes.
