Crumbed Mushrooms

A great dish to have as a full meal with bacon and cheese rolls, or as a snack for the grumbling tummy!



Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Makes: 2 servings

Ingredients
500g mushrooms
1 egg
Italian Herbs seasoning
Breadcrumbs
1 tbsp milk
Vegetable oil
1/2 tbsp Lemon Squeeze



Method

Slice the mushrooms into thin pieces.

Whisk the milk and egg together in a bowl.

In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil - use enough for the mushrooms to be immersed in it (about 1cm deep).



Place a mushroom piece into the egg and milk batter and soak both sides. Then transfer into a bowl with Italian herbs and coat both sides with the spices.

Put the mushrooms into the frying pan and cook (while occasionally flipping both sides) till they turn crispy and brown.



Remove the mushrooms from the frying pan and place on a plate that has a tissue paper on it. This will allow the oil to be absorbed by the tissue paper.

Serve with bacon and cheese rolls on the side if desired (look at the recipe for the rolls on my page).
