Crunchy Sugar Coated Almonds

A great snack of toasted crunchy almonds covered in sugar. It is perfect as a topping to your desserts too!

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 1 medium-sized jar

Ingredients
200g raw almonds
120g icing sugar

Method
Preheat the oven to 220C fan-forced. Line oven tray with baking paper.

Place the almonds in a bowl, mix in a little water to soften them. Add the icing sugar, mix well to coat.



Scatter the coated almonds on the oven tray on a single layer. Roast in the preheated oven for 10 minutes until the sugar has crystalized and almond is crunchy.



Remove from the oven and leave to cool. Break into pieces and keep in an airtight jar or container. It makes a great snack itself or can be used as a topping for desserts.
