Ingredients 1/4 cup caster sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 cup self raising flour
1/2 cup plain flour
250g chocolate chips
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
Beat the white sugar, brown sugar, and butter until fluffy.
Creaming the sugars and butter
Lightly whisk the egg and mix the egg and vanilla into the butter mix.
Gradually add the flours and mix through to make a dough mixture.
Split this mixture in half.
To one half, add half of the chocolate chips and fold through using a spoon.
Completed choc chip cookie dough
To the other dough half, add cocoa, mix through. Then fold in chocolate chips.
Roll the dough into balls and place onto a greased baking tray.
Bake for 15 minutes or until the cookies are golden brown.
Once cooked, remove from the oven and allow to cool (either completely, or slightly so that you can eat the cookies while still warm. But take care – the chop chip cookies may still be slightly melted, and will be hot.
