Fried Turmeric Rice

Fried turmeric rice? I know it sounds simple and boring. But, trust me it can be served with any type of curry and it's delicious. I served it with my no cream butter chicken and it was a match made in heaven. It is so simple and easy to make.



Fried turmeric rice


Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20-25 minutes
Makes: 4

Ingredients
2 cups of Basmati rice
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
Thinly sliced half red onions
Thinly sliced tomato
Chopped coriander
2 green chillies (optional)
50g butter
Salt to taste
3 cups water

Method
Wash The Basmati rice well.
Pour the rice into the rice cooker.
Add water, turmeric powder and salt.
Stir the water (not the rice) and make sure the turmeric powder and the salt is mixed well in the water.
After the rice is cooked, warm a large frying pan and add butter.
When the butter is melted, add sliced onions, green chillie and tomato.
When the onion and tomato is slightly cooked add the rice.
Stir it for 2 minutes.
Add chopped coriander and it is ready to be served.

How to serve

To add more beauty on your plate, take a clean small bowl. Fill the bowl with rice. Press the rice and make sure the rice is held into the bowl firmly.
Now take a plate and place it over the bowl of rice.
Carefully turn the bowl upside down and there you go.
Serve butter chicken or any other curry next to it.

Light a candle and there is your dinner for two.
