Golden Milk

This spicy and warming drink has become a welcome addition to my bedtime ritual.

Taken from the Ayurvedic tradition, golden milk is believed to have a wealth of health and medicinal properties, including fighting against arthritis, aiding the immune and digestive season, and packing a strong antioxidant punch.

In the lead up to the season of excess, try golden milk as an alternative to eggnog, or allow your body this healthful drink to assist in its recovery.



Cooking Time: 5 minutes
Makes: 1 serve

Ingredients
1 cup milk (or non-dairy alternative)
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg

Method
In a small saucepan, heat the milk over a low heat, stirring, until warm.

Add the turmeric, cinnamon and nutmeg to the pan and mix through thoroughly.

Continue to stir and bring to the boil, then remove from heat. The drink can be served either directly from the stove, or left to cool and consumed then.
