Ingredients 1 cup milk
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup caster sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp instant yeast
For the Fillings 18 thin-slices ham
2 cups grated tasty cheese
In a bowl, mix 3 cups of the flour with sugar and salt. Set aside.
Place the milk and butter in a heatproof jug. Heat in a microwave for 90 seconds, stir until the butter has melted. Pour into a stand mixer bowl, add in the yeast and stir with a spatula.
Add in the flour mixture and the egg. With a dough hook on, beat on low speed until they are combined.
Add in 1/4 cup from the remaining flour and continue beating on low speed until combined.
Add in the last 1/4 cup of the flour. Beat until a dough forns. Shape the dough into a ball, cover with a damp tea towel and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Divide the dough in half. Transfer one of the dough onto a lightly floured surface, roll out into a square. Using a pizza cutter, trim the edges to make a perfect square. Spread 1 cup of the cheese over the rolled out dough, arrange 9 slices of the ham on top. Tightly roll up the dough to enclose.
Using a sharp knife, trim off the edges of the roll then cut into 8 rolls. Arrange on the baking dish. Repeat with the remaining dough, ham and cheese.
Cover with a damp tea towel and leave to rise in a warm room for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 170C.
Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20 minutes until golden and the cheese has melted. Leave to cool slightly on a wire rack for 5 minutes. Serve.
