Cacao is the mineral-rich cousin of cocoa powder which has been cold-pressed to retain as much nutritional value as possible.
These bliss balls are a delight to snack on and a very healthy alternative to store-bought and commercially made products. With no added processed sugar and all ingredients kept raw, these bites are surprisingly sweet and chocolatey.
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients 85g hazelnuts
6 dried figs
55g raw cacao powder
25g desiccated coconut
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons water
Place the hazelnuts and figs in a food processor and blitz until fine.
Add the remaining ingredients and process until very well combined.
Roll the mixture into 20 even, bite-sized balls and place on a flat plate or dish, then cover and refrigerate for 10 mins. Eat immediately or store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
