Ingredients 200g dark chocolate
250g unsalted butter
100g milk chocolate
50g white chocolate
300g caster sugar
45g plain flour
Half a tsp baking powder
melt the butter and chocolate together either over a bain-marie or in the microwave. Whichever works for you is cool.
Sift the flour and baking powder together and add to the melted chocolate.
Whisk the eggs together and add half of the milk chocolate, stir and add to the rest of the brownie mixture. Once combined add half the bar of white chocolate.
Transfer to the baking tray and put in the oven at 180 degress (gas mark 4), for 40 minutes.
After 20 minutes break up the remaining milk and white chocolate and scatter over the baking brownie. Be quick because you don't want it to sink.
I make them slightly different to Jamie hence the above modifications of ingredients and quantities.
Jamie suggests optional dried sour cherries/nuts, but I always find these go down a treat with more chocolate! So I add 100g of white chocolate, 50g is added in the same way as the milk chocolate, then once the mixture is all poured in the baking tray I add the remaining 50g on top of the mixture. I add it on top just for prettiness. When the brownies are done the visible white chocolate comes out lightly browned on top but gooey delicious beneath!
Enjoy with double cream or vanilla ice cream, this recipe truly is indulgence at it's best!
