Japanese Bear Hotcakes

Japanese Hotcakes are the fluffier version of American Pancakes. Try this recipe to make a cute bear shaped hotcakes that kids would love!



Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 2 servings

Ingredients
1 egg
100ml milk
100g japanese cake flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
20g caster sugar

Method
Beat the egg, milk and sugar together. Sift in the cake flour and baking powder. Whisk until well combined. Let it rest for 15 minutes and the batter will thickened slightly.



Spray the non-stick frying pan with cooking oil and heat under medium heat. Place the bear shaped ring mould on the pan. Pour in the batter inside the ring.



Cook for 2 minutes until bubbles appears.



Carefully flip the hotcake and cook for a further 1.5 - 2 minutes. Remove the ring mould.



Repeat with the remaining batter.

Serve immediately with butter, maple syrup and icing sugar.
