Ingredients 4 live abalone, shucked, cleaned
2 cups rice, washed
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 thumb-size piece ginger, finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon soy sauce
10 cups water
dried seaweed flakes, and roasted sesame to serve
Thinly sliced the abalone.
In a rice cooker, add in the washed rice, sliced abalone, ginger, sesame oil, salt and soy sauce. Pour in the water and cook according the rice cooker's instructions manual. Alternatively, bring to the boil in a stockpot and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally until cooked.
Divide into bowls. Serve warm with dried seaweed flakes and roasted sesame seeds.
