Picadillo

A traditional dish in Spain. It came from the word "picar" which means "to chop".

It can be used for croquettes, tacos, and savoury pastries.


Preparation Time: 15 mins
Cooking Time: 20 mins
Serves: 4-6

Ingredients
10 g garlic
10 g shallots
80 g diced carrots
60 g diced bell pepper
180 g diced potato
350 g ground pork
30 ml soy sauce
250 ml tomato sauce
20 g brown sugar
15 ml vegetable oil
Salt (to taste)
Ground black pepper (to taste)


Method
In a pan, put the oil.
Saute the garlic and shallots.
Add the ground pork and cook it well.
Add the potato, carrots, and bell pepper.
Once the vegetables have softened, add the brown sugar, soy sauce, and tomato sauce.
Season it with salt and black pepper.
Serve it with rice or bread.
