Strawberry jam and raspberry jam is very common, so I like to make something different. That is why I make this plum jam. Perfect on toast or great to use in jam drops, anything you can think of really.
Beautiful plum jam
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Makes: 1 small jar
Ingredients 1.5kg plums, washed and stalks removed
Juice of 1 lemon
1 cup water
Place plums, lemon juice and water in a large saucepan and bring it to the boil, stirring occasionally
Continue to cook, stirring frequently to prevent mixture from catching, until plums are broken down
Add sugar and stir until it is dissolved
Bring mixture back to the boil, stirring continuously and cook until setting point is reached
Strain out the pips. Pour into warm sterilised jars (heated in the oven) seal immediately.
