Prawn and Okra Curry

Most people are of Indian curry and loves to eat them. But, not many people are familiar with tradional 'Bangaldeshi Curry'. This is a recipe for tradional Bangladeshi curry of prawn and okra. I hope you like it as much I do.

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 25 minutes
Makes: 4 servings

Okra 300 grams
peeled Prawn 1500 grams ( you can add more prawn if you love eating prawns)
2 medium sized sliced onions
1 sliced tomato
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 teaspoon garlic paste
2 teaspoon of cumin powder
2 teaspoon of ground coriander
2 small chillies split in the middle
1/2 -1 teaspoon of turmeric powder ( depending on your desired color for the curry)
1 teaspoon chilly powder (optional)
3 table spoon of olive oil
1/2 cup of water

Sliced the onions and tomato.
Wash okra and cut them into small pieces ( as shown in the pic)

Heat 3 table spoon of oil in a pan.
Add sliced onions and saute until brown.

Add tomato and saute until soften.
Marinade prawn into ginger and garlic paste, add into the pan and saute until the prawn turns red.

Add chillies, okras and all the spices. Saute for another 5 minutes or until there is nice fragrance of the spices cooking.
Add Salt and water. cover it with a lead and simmer it until the okra is cooked.
Garnish it with coriander if you like.
Serve it with rice.
