: At least 1hour 30 minutes in a greased and prepared 900g loaf tin in an oven preheated to150°C/300°F/Gas 2 .
: Approximately 10-12 slices
175g golden syrup
50g black treacle
2 large eggs
225g plain flour
1 teasp mixed spice
2 teasp ground ginger
1 level teasp bicarbonate of soda
110g stoned dates
Serve the cake sliced, and buttered, if you wish.
