This quick dessert can be topped with a little ice cream or some whipped cream if desired. Some flaked almonds, coconut, chocolate chips or flaked chocolate can be sprinkled on top and a strawberry would make it extra special. The vanilla custard can be replaced with banana or chocolate custard. Chocolate chip or other varieties of biscuits can be used instead of scotch finger biscuits. Drained chopped canned pears, apricots or peaches can be used instead of banana. There are many possible variations.

If desired, top with a little whipped cream or ice cream to serve.
The dessert can be eaten straight away if you like the biscuit to be crunchy. Leave in the fridge for a couple of hours before eating if you like the custard to soak into the biscuit layers and soften them.
