Sausage Gravy with Steamed Veggies

There's a little bit of everything in one meal!



Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Makes: 4 servings

Ingredients



8 thin beef sausages
Bacon slices
1 carrot
1/2 cauliflower
1/2 broccoli
1 packet salt-reduced French onion soup
2 tbsp tomato paste
400 ml water
Rice (as desired)

Method
Fill 3/4 of a saucepan with water and bring to boil.

Place the sausages into the boiling water, allow it to simmer for two minutes, and then remove from boil.



Peel the skin from sausages and cut into little chunks.



Mix the French onion soup powder with water.



Add the tomato paste, French onion soup mixture, bacon and sausages into the saucepan.



Chop up the cauliflower, broccoli and carrot into little pieces and steam till they turn soft.



Cook the sausage mixture over low heat for 20 to 30 minutes (util thickened).

Follow the directions on the cheese sauce packet and then drizzle over the steamed veggies.



Serve hot on a bed of rice with the steamed veggies on the side.
