Skirlie, or oatmeal stuffing, is a traditional Scottish dish. You can make it with beef dripping, or just use butter, which I have done to make this dish vegetarian. Where I come from in Angus, It's also traditionally used as a stuffing for chicken or turkey instead of sage and onion. It's a tasty savoury treat that is quick and easy to make.
This is a very simple dish, with only a few ingredients.
