A very famous street food in Taiwan, also known as Lu Rou Fan. This recipe is normally cooked using pork belly, but today I am remaking the dish using minced pork. The outcome is the same, only faster.

Give this dish a try :)

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Makes: 3-4 servings

Ingredients
700g minced pork
3 eggs, hard boiled and peeled
4 knobs garlic, minced
2 spring onion, tied into knots
10 dried shiitake mushrooms, soak with hot water and diced
1 tbsp five spice powder
2 star anise
2 tbsp cooking oil
Hot water

Sauce:
2 tbsp dark soy sauce
2 tbsp light soy sauce
4 tbsp sweet soy sauce
4 tbsp oyster sauce
10 tbsp Chinese rice wine

Method
Heat up oil in a non-stick pan over high heat, add garlic and minced pork. Stir constantly. Cook for about 10 minutes or until most of the water evaporated.

Add diced shiitake mushrooms. Mix well

Pour the sauce in and cook for another 2 minutes.
On a clean pot, put spring onion and eggs in. Transfer pork from the other pot over and cover them with hot water.

On low heat, let it simmer for 20 minutes.
Serve with steam rice and steam vegetable.

Recipe sounds delicious but you haven't mentioned what to do with star anise or 5 spice powder. Also you write to tie spring onions in knots but the photo shows them cut.

Dear, the five spice powder and star anise go in after the sauce/ or you can put them with the sauce too and set aside. The spring onion with knot we put in with the eggs then simmer. The cut onion in the photo are just garnishes :) Hope that helped.
