Triple Chocolate Cake

Dark chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting and chocolate chips

Preparation Time: 45 minutes
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Makes: 12 servings

Ingredients
Cake:
1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups white sugar
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup milk
1/2 cup greek yogurt
1/2 cup canola oil
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract

Frosting:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups icing sugar
1/4 cup 2 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tbsp milk

2/3 cup chocolate chips, for decoration

Method
Preheat oven to 180C. Grease a 21 cm round cake pans. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda in a large bowl. Set aside.



In a medium bowl, combine the milk, yogurt, oil, eggs, and vanilla in a large bowl.



Add this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir using a whisk until well combined.



Pour the batter into prepared baking pan and bake for 45 minutes. Allow to cool before frosting.



Beat butter using mixer on low speed for 5 minutes.



Add icing sugar, beat again for 5 more minutes.



Stir in milk and cocoa powder, beat briefly just until combined.



Spread the frosting on to the top and sides of cooled cake. Then top it with chocolate chips.
