I grew up on Italian food, pizza, spaghetti, and lasagna, all of that kind of stuff. Despite this, I never really learned how to cook Italian food. My wife has never been a fan, but I would like to introduce some Italian cuisine into our repertoire. Iím looking for some succulent dishes that will entice my wife and satisfy my craving. What would you suggest?
Gnocchi was the #1 favourite on our northern (Fruilani) Italian tavola. Specially reared pigeon (roasted) with polenta an Easter special. My mother could create a meal from what ever fresh vegetables and herbs in her garden or a chicken from the 'chook house' would make a broth and a meal. Rissoto was the dish she made for her three nipoti. Always a clean piatto at our house.
