Finy describes her cooking as adventurous, as she mixes unusual products together, as well as trying "weird" things that are normally not served together such as, chocolate and strawberry pizza.
"Avocado, Cheese and Bacon melt includes three of my favourite foods - yes, I have MANY favourites. I rarely eat red meat, but I could not give up my bacon which, along Nestles Sweetened Condensed milk, are probably my all time favourite foods.
Bacon goes well with so many other ingredients, as does cheese and avocado, and I believe I was first served this lunch at a cafe in Perth."
She also likes bacon with anything, including maple syrup and eggs, and making dishes around these ingredients.
"I do not have one particular style of cooking as I originally learnt from my European mother, so learnt mainly German dishes. As time went by, I realised that I love Asian and other food from other countries, and I have a "sweet tooth", so I usually have a cake or biscuits in the house," Finy says.
As well as cooking, Finy also enjoys photography, so she bought herself a new camera (great excuse!), and has been doing what she enjoys ever since.
"Since writing for Recipe Yum, I find that I'm eating far more desserts as it is a good excuse to eat them!"
Which kitchen tools do you recommend to other food writers?
"Tools I would recommend as a must in cooking are a blender, electric mixer, microwave and Woll pots for oil free cooking."
