2 Ingredients Scones
This recipe can be made with just 2 ingredients, but with the addition of my home made chocolate, it can also be 5 ingredients. Read on and I'll tell you how to make both.
Plain or Chocolate Swirl which do you prefer

Ingredients
For the Scones
3 cups of self raising flour
2 cups plus 2 tablespoons of thickened cream
For the Chocolate
2 tablespoons of raw cacao powder or cocoa powder
3 teaspoons of coconut oil
2 teaspoons of maple syrup
Method
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
In a large bowl sift the flour.
Add in cream and quickly mix with a butter knife until a sticky dough forms.
Dough should look like this
Take half of the mixture and place it on a sheet of baking paper.
Press the dough together like this
Place a second piece of baking paper on top and a third piece of paper on a baking tray.
Gently roll out the dough. Dough should be about 1 and 1/2 cm high.
Cut the dough into shapes with a round cookie cutter and place on the baking tray.

Press remaining dough back together and roll again to make more rounds.
For all plain continue with second half of the dough.
To make half chocolate swirl scones mix cacao powder in a small bowl with the maple syrup and coconut oil.
Take spoonfuls of the chocolate and add to some of the remaining mixture. Roll out as before and cut into rounds.
For fun you can also use different shaped cookie cutters.
Star shaped cookie cutters are fun to use
Bake scones for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and place on a rack to cool.
Best serve with whipped cream and Jam.

Scones are at their best when served the day they were made. You can freeze some for another day if you like.
