3 Ingredient LowSugar Plum Jam

Sweet and tart Low-Sugar Plum Jam suitable for diabetics. Only 3 ingredients and very easy to make!

Preparation Time: 1-24 hours
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Serves: Multiple, makes 3-4 x 500 g jars

Ingredients
2 kg plums (any kind, I used Sugar Plums and Blood Plums)
250 g white sugar
1/4-1/2 teaspoons of lemon juice



Method
  • Halve plums and remove pips, place into a large container or bowl and add sugar, mix sugar through and leave it to sit for 1-24 hours (it's up to you how long you wish to leave it to sit for)
  • Place sugar/plum mix into a saucepan and simmer on a low heat for 15 minutes, removing the yellowish foam as it simmers.


  • Add lemon juice and simmer for a further 15 minutes, allow to cool a bit until it's warm and pour into jam jars or a clip lock container.
  • Store in fridge, can be kept for up to 2 weeks but no longer than that due to the low amount of sugar (acts as a preservative, less sugar means shorter life time), it tastes so good it may not last a week anyway.
