With the appearance of a raised pie, this apple frangipane make a great centrepiece for the table.

Ingredients
2 baking apples
100g white bread flour
275g wholemeal bread flour
60g wholemeal plain flour
125g Truvia sweetener (or 450g caster sugar)
325g margarine
5 tbsp water
5 eggs
70g apricot jam
200g ground almonds
Method
Pre-heat the oven to 200 ༠C/ 180 ༠C fan/400 ༠F/6 Gas.
Mix the two bread flours together with 75g sweetener/250g sugar.
Beat in 125g margarine with one egg, and water to form the pastry.
Roll out the pastry and line it in a cake tin.
Cream 200g margarine with 60g sweetener/200g sugar.
Separate two eggs and beat the yolks with two whole eggs.
Beat into the mixture, and then fold in the plain flour and ground almonds.
Pour the frangipane mixture into the pastry case.
Core, peel, and slice the apples, and layer them on top of the frangipane.
Warm up the apricot jam in the microwave and spread it over the apples to make a glaze.
