Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Makes: 12
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups SR flour
30 g butter or margarine
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons pizza sauce or crushed tomatoes
75-100 g cheese, grated
75-100 g bacon, diced
Method
Preheat oven to 200C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
Place the flour and butter in a bowl and work them together with your fingertips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Add the milk and mix together until a soft dough is formed.
Place the dough on a floured surface and knead until the dough is smooth. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle approximately 30 x 23 cm.
Spread the sauce or crushed tomatoes over the dough leaving a 1 cm border along one of the long sides.
Sprinkle the bacon and cheese on top of the sauce and then roll it up like a swiss roll.
Slice the roll into 12 pieces and lay each piece flat on the baking tray. Leave about 3 cm space between each roll.
Bake for 15 minutes then serve hot or transfer to a wire rack to cool.
