Baked Camembert with Cranberry Walnut Crumble
I love camembert and love it baked. This time I put a topping on it - it is very rich and I could not eat the whole wheel however it was delicious.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 1 - 2
Ingredients
1 250 g wheel camembert cheese
¼ cup walnuts, toasted and chopped
Less than ¼ cup cranberries
1 tbsp brown sugar
½ tbsp butter, melted
1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
Bit of salt
Method
Preheat the oven to 180°/160° fan forced.
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar. Stir to combine.
Fold in the cranberries, walnuts, thyme and salt.
Cut the top of the camembert rind off the cheese.
Put it in an oven safe dish with cut side up. I used baking paper to line the dish.
Cover the top of the cheese with the cranberry walnut topping.
Bake for 15 minutes.
Serve with toasted slices of French bread or crackers, though I served it with a leftover salad.
