Baked Oats

Baked Oats

Posted 2013-02-14 by Tammy Faceyfollow
Winter seems endless in the UK, so I've found myself a little more creative than usual in the kitchen. Oats are always a winter warmer but I wanted to do something different, so I baked oats. Easy to follow recipe with simple, memorable measurements, get baking.

Preparation Time: 2 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Makes: 1 servings

Ingredients
Half a cup/ mug of oats
Half a cup/mug of almond milk (it's sweeter than cows)
1 egg
1 tsp honey
Half a tsp cinnamon
Half a tsp of nutmeg
OR
1 tblsp mixed spice

Method
  • Mix the oats and spices together. Add the milk and stir. Add the egg and honey then transfer to a lightly buttered ramekin.

  • Pop the ramekin in the oven for 20 minutes at 180 degrees (gas mark 4).

  • Remove the ramekin and leave to cool for at least 5 minutes, or you'll burn your tongue (like I did the first time I made this).

  • Baked oats

You could keep this as an indulgent breakfast/snack/dessert for yourself, but kids love this too and remember sharing is caring.
