Baked Tortilla Chips

When I was younger, there was a fast food place in the city called torts. They made really tasty fried tortilla chips. I decided to make some myself, but I have chosen to bake them instead of frying, and they are just as good, if not better.

Tortilla chips with salsa


Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 14 minutes
Makes: 8-14 chips

Ingredients
1 tortilla
Himalayan pink salt to season
2 tablespoons of olive oil

Method
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Cut tortilla bread into 8 pieces. Cut some of the bigger pieces in half.
  • Place pieces on a tray lined with baking paper.
  • Brush each piece with olive oil. Turn over and repeat.
  • Season one side with salt.

  • Brush with olive oil and season with salt


  • Place tray in the oven and bake for 14 minutes.
  • Take chips out of the oven if ready they should be brown and crunchy.

  • Tortilla chips straight out of the oven


  • These go well with salsa or with my Chunky Avocado dip
