Balsamic Honey Roasted Pear & Chestnut

The caramelized pear and chestnuts are just so tantalizing delicious. Bosc pears are perfect for baking and roasted chestnuts with honey and vinegar are very tasty.

Balsamic Honey Roasted Pear and Chestnut

Chestnut is a low-GI & low-fat but high fibre & gluten free nutritious food. Pears are a well known healthy food. All these with a simple dressing make a healthy and tasty light recipe, it is one of my family favourites.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 25-30 minutes
Makes: 2 servings

2 bosc pears, chopped into 8 wedges
20-25 fresh chestnuts, boiled & peeled, halved
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp honey, chestnut flavoured
1 tbsp olive oil
Herbal/sea/pink salt
Fresh thyme leaves
Squeezed half lemon juice
Salad leaves of your choice to serve
Grated parmesan cheese to serve (optional)

Balsamic Honey Roasted Pear and Chestnut


Preheat oven to 200 ℃.

Peel the chestnut shells. Instructions can be found here
In a baking tray, add pear wedges, halved peeled chestnuts, balsamic vinegar, chestnut honey (or just honey), olive oil and some salt. Toss thoroughly to combine.

Bake in oven for 25-30 minutes until golden. Toss occasionally.

Allow to cool in oven for 10 minutes.
Add fresh lemon juice and thyme leaves. Toss to combine.

Serve warm with or tossed with salad leaves of your choice.
Sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese (optional).
