Banana Cinnamon and Macadamia French Toast
This is an easy, sweet and slightly healthier variation of french toast, perfect for Sunday morning brunch.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 4 servings
Ingredients
3 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1 tbsp icing sugar extra for dusting
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
4 slices thick-cut white bread
2 bananas
2 tsp butter
1/4 cup macadamias, toasted
Maple syrup, to serve
Method
Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees.
Beat eggs, milk, icing sugar, vanilla and cinnamon in a large bowl until combined.
Soak bread in egg mix, 1 min on each side.
Heat 1 tsp of the butter in a large fry pan until melted. Add soaked bread and cook on each side until golden.
Slice banana thinly and chop macadamias roughly.
Once all bread is cooked, top with banana and macadamias, drizzle with maple syrup and dust with icing sugar. Serve warm and enjoy!
