Beef Chow Mein

Beef Chow Mein

A cheap and easy family meal.



Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 40 minutes
Makes: 6 servings

Ingredients
600g beef mince
1/2 cabbage
2 tsp curry powder
1 tsp crushed garlic
2 packets of chicken noodle soup
3 cups of peas, corn & carrots
1 large onion
2 tsp chillli flakes
5 tbsp of worcestershire sauce
5 tbsp of soy sauce
Squirt of tomato sauce
Oil

Method
  • Chop 1 large onion and sweat it off in a wok.
  • Add your mince and fry with the onion.
  • To this add your spices; garlic, curry powder and chilli flakes and cook.
  • Pour in your vegetables (peas, corn & carrots)
  • Add your packets of chicken noodle soup and stir.
  • Add the sauce and bring to the simmer.
  • Slice up your cabbage and add to the wok.
  • Place the lid on and steam for 10 mins.
  • Stir and replace lid so the cabbage continues to cook.
  • Cook for a further 20 mins.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Serve by itself or with some buttered bread.
