Beer Steamed Prawns

With only four ingredients, you can easily prepare and cook this simple prawn dish for your family. Enjoy this dish with your favourite beer!

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 5 minutes
Makes: 4 servings

1kg large king prawns, unpeeled
10-cm piece ginger, unpeeled, thinly sliced
300ml Tiger beer or any other light tasting beer
2 tsp salt

Using a scissors, trim the head and the tail of the prawns.
Devein the prawns with a toothpick.
Soak the prawns in a bowl of cold tap water mix with the salt for 10 minutes. Drain and rinse. This help to improve the flavour and the texture of the prawns.

Preheat the steamer.
Arrange the ginger slices on a steaming dish, top with the prawns. Pour in the beer.

Steam the prawns on high for 5 minutes. Do not overcook.

What do you mean by trim the head and tail - take them off?

Trim the sharp whiskers and legs.
