Best Mashed Potatoes
Over the years I have tried many variations of the classic "mash". I still believe this is the best one.
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Makes: 5 servings
Ingredients
10 potatoes
1 tablespoon of butter
1/2 cup of milk
Method
Peel and wash the potatoes.
Cut each potato into discs of approximately 1cm in thickness.
Cut the discs in half.
Place cut potatoes into a microwave safe container.
Add enough water to just cover the potatoes.
Place on the lid of the container and cook in microwave for 20 minutes.
After the 20 minutes of cooking time remove the lid and drain the water.
To check if the potatoes are properly cooked remove one piece from the container and if the piece crumbles easily when squashed with spoon, its cooked.
Mash the potatoes, either with potato masher or a fork.
Add the butter and mash the potatoes to mix it in.
Add the milk and mash to mix it in.
Serve hot as a great accompaniment to any meal.
