Bhindi

Okra (6)     
Okra is very low in calories and dense with nutrients. It ishigh in fiber, vitamins and folate content.It is also good in calcium, potassium, iron, and zinc. This is one of my favourite recipe.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 7 minutes
Makes: 2 servings

Ingredients
500 grams Ladyfingers/okra/ bhindi
3 tsp Oil
1/2 tps Cumin seeds
1 Onion slices
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/3 tsp salt (according to taste)


Method
Wash and dry the okra. Cut both the ends and cut into round pieces.





Heat the oil in a pan and add the cumin seeds. After few seconds add the onions and saute till light golden.




Add the okra and sprinkle turmeric powders and salt.





When the okra is almost cooked, increase the heat and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Serve with chapattis.
