Black Bean Brownies have been the go-to vegan sweet for a while now, and this rich, creamy smoothie capitalises on the success of those recipes.



Black beans are loaded with plant-based protein ( 15g per cup) and add a delicious thickness to this chocolatey creation. For those who are a little wary of adding beans to their smoothies - fear not. You will hardly be able to taste them when combined with the natural sweetness of the banana, dates, and luscious cacao.



Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Serves: 1

Ingredients
1/2 cup black beans, rinsed and drained
1 large banana, frozen
1-2 medjool dates, pitted
1 tablespoon raw cacao powder
1 cup almond milk (or other non-dairy alternative)

Method
  • Throw all ingredients together in a blender.
